2024 ATH Davis Smith (Auburn, AL) Discusses His Recent Miles College Visit And Offer

Davis Smith, a class of 2024 athlete (Safety/Long Snapper) from Auburn High School (AL) recently visited Miles College and was extended an offer from Head Coach Sam Shade.

He discussed with me what he enjoyed about his visit and how he was impressed with the level of experience on the Golden Bears coaching staff.

“It was a great experience and visit. I loved all the coaches that are on the staff because of how experienced each one of them are. All coaches have played in the NFL or college and they have two College Football Hall of Famers. Also having Coach Langham, a Jim Thorpe winner as your DB Coach is a plus.” Smith referring to Miles College Defensive Backs Coach Antonio Langham, who won the Jim Thorpe award with the Alabama Crimson Tide in 1993.

“The campus life looks great and all the players and students have a great bond when we saw them.”

Smith went on to discuss how the offer from Head Coach Sam Shade came about.

“Me and my family met with Head Coach Shade, talking about the opportunities that they would have for me to play. He likes the way I can play both positions (DB and Long Snapper) very well.”

Smith tells me he plans to sign with a school next week and 3 schools are under strong consideration.

“My top 3 going into my signing day is Savannah State, Miles, and Alabama A&M in no order.”

During his senior season at Auburn, the 5-9, 175 pound athlete was the leading tackler for his team with 85 total tackles for the season.
