NC A&T’s Bryce Graham Awarded Inaugural Light On HBCU Sports Journalism Scholarship
North Carolina A&T student Bryce Graham is the winner of the inaugural Light On HBCU Journalism Scholarship $500 giveaway. An award given to an HBCU student who aspires to be a sports journalist. Graham is a native of Spartanburg, South Carolina and will be a sophomore at NC A&T this upcoming fall. She is a journalism major with a concentration in public relations and completed her freshman year with a 3.84 GPA; receiving multiple honors including making the Chancellor's List and Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Society.
The Spartanburg native has done a tremendous amount of volunteer work in her community from serving people at Majority Baptist Church Food Bank, to helping complete applications for jobs and assistance with local agencies in the area. Agencies included: United Way - assistance with heat and electric bills, DSS - Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, WIC, and Affordable Housing. She also volunteered for the Spartanburg Gators little league football team and cheerleading squad with games and practices during the week and on the weekend.
Graham has a passion for sports journalism with a strong commitment to promoting the achievements and stories of historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in sports.
